Registering with a reputable kennel club is a very vital element when you want to take care of a purebred pet, most especially a dog.

The registration certificate or the dog's pedigree certificate is like your pets birth certificate, his family record and your ownership record packed into one.

The record shows the pets name, his or her birthday, a registered serial number, the name of the breeder and the owner and the address of the owner.

It also shows all of the dogs family tree, from the bloodline of his Sire, his father, to the descendants of his dam, or his mother. It also shows the merits of the dog or the awards and achievements given to his family. This is shown by the Red and green marks shown on the pedigree certificate if ever the dog has acquired any merits from dog shows and events.

To register your pet, you must apply for a kennel name and be a member of a kennel club. At our affiliated club, the fee is only P130 pesos, P40 pesos for your membership I.D. card. A very small price to pay with lots of benefits. The papers will then be mailed to you or you can pick it up as soon as it is available. You do not have to pay any unreasonable amount or any other penalty fees at the AKCUPI.

**check Asian Kennel Club Union of the Phils. Inc. to download registration forms and to check other applications

In cases of transferring your dogs name to yours, you must bring your pets papers to a kennel club and pay the appropriate fee, for transfer of ownership, in cases of those who have bought dogs from other breeders.

Take note that only purebred dogs can be registered.

And keep in mind that acquiring papers from illegal sources is a way towards irresponsible dog ownership, not only are you kidding and lying to yourself, you will also inflict and destroy the bloodline of the dogs you will breed your dog with.
